Columbia Irrigation District is providing public notice that it will be applying aquatic herbicide to its irrigation canals in accordance with Washington State Department of Ecology, Permit No. WAG991005. The purpose of the herbicide application is to minimize aquatic weed growth to maintain unrestricted water flow within the delivery system. Treatment will be to the entire irrigation system within the boundaries of Columbia Irrigation District located in Benton County, Washington. Pesticides to be used will be Cascade (Dipotassium Salt of Endothall), Nautique (Copper Carbonate), Captain XTR (Copper Ethanolamine), Pak 27 (Sodium Carbonate Peroxyhydrate), Sonar Genesis (Floridone) and Clearcast (Imazamox). Treatments will be between April 15, 2018 and October 15, 2018. The injection site will be Wanawish Dam, West Richland. Waters within the Columbia Irrigation District’s delivery system should be used for irrigation purposes only and are not for human consumption. Avoid human contact. All canals within Columbia Irrigation District are restricted to District authorized purposes only and are not intended for public use. District facilities are posted and located on private property.
