AUDIT EXIT CONFERENCE
Markus Nelson and Ginny Waltman were present to conduct the exit conference for the Financial Statement and Accountability Audit for fiscal year 2017. A PowerPoint presentation was given explaining how the audit was conducted. There were no findings for the audit period. The next audit is scheduled to occur during the summer of 2019 for fiscal year 2018 unless the District accepts the offer from the Auditor’s Office to change to a two-year audit.
Mr. Flynn explained that the District recently sent several items to surplus. Some were so old the auction house would not take them. He obtained a letter from them saying they had no value. Mr. Flynn asked Ms. Waltman and Mr. Nelson if this documentation would be sufficient to discharge the items via donation or scrap. Mr. Nelson indicated a letter from the auction house should be enough. Ms. Waltman stated it would depend on District policy if an item of no value could be donated to a member of the Board.
Mr. Flynn notified the Board of the Employment Security Departments decision to grant a former employee another hearing date for unemployment benefits. The hearing is scheduled for November 8, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
Director Gose motioned to give the WP-60 Printer to Director Martin since it has no value. Director Thackham seconded the motion. Motion approved.
Executive Session
President Shawver moved the meeting into Executive Session at 3:54 pm for ten minutes to discuss potential litigation. The meeting was moved back into Open Session at 4:04 pm.
ADJOURNMENT
President Shawver adjourned the meeting at 4:05 pm.
